Last month, I bought Jasper tickets to see Romare as a birthday surprise... the bigger surprise was that he had also bought me tickets!! Luckily that meant we could bring Caleb and Tom, haha.

Alongside Nightmares On Wax, Romare is hands down one of our favourite DJs to go and see live - I think every time they've played in Leeds over the last few years, he and I have made it our mission to boogie the night away as hard as possible, we can't get enough! But this was the first time we've seen either with a live band.

Romare's performance at Headrow House was such an epic display of music and layers of sound being produced in front of our very eyes - it was amazing. They shouldn't have turned on the smoke machines cos that was the sweatiest room I've experienced in a long while; everyone was skanking their quarms away it was greeaat. Undoubtedly he's doing something right, and the boys won't stop banging on about how fab it was without their usual critical comments, the only thing they'd tease him about was the bull-horn hairstyle, but you know he's workin it. I won't bait out some of the moist things they're saying about how much they aspire to be him though haha, it's too much. Every time we've seen Romare in Leeds it's just gotten better and better, we can't wait to see wag1 in the future, hopefully World Island, but got to admit it's looking quite expensive - a birthday treat perhaps!

ROMARE ft. tenor

As we launched our new t-shirts at SWETSHOP earlier on in the day, we treated the gig as a sort of after-party to our HPBC debut. Unfortunately we couldn't stay there all evening as we had to run off to do the radio show before catching some more music before heading into town. Neck Dancing Society Episode 4 went really well, and listening back to it the boys and I were really chuffed because the vibes were just great! Also we played some amazing tunes made by Maddy and Carl Blarx, before playing the full interview and live performance from him and Kunfucius from Wednesday.

The Claude Rodap one has been a recent gem that Raf showed me at work earlier on in the week when I was not feeling too great, it's definitely uplifting and funky! Of course we felt compelled to play a couple Bonobo tracks as a thanks to LSR for taking us to see him and his band earlier on in the week, was a mad ting; and we've had such a sick time listening to a lot of live music this week, brilliant stuff.

Today I have been trying to relive last night by bangin out this timeless Boiler Room set.
