HELP US WRITE A BOOK

In light of a 3-day mental health conference happening at Leeds Uni by Mind Matters, we have decided to try and release a book of short stories/poems/lyrics/accounts etc that give a voice to the things that go on in your brain behind closed doors. We open contributions for this to everyone but want to encourage people who do suffer from or have had experience with mental demons to use this as an exercise to open to the public what it really means to have a mental illness. It can of course be fiction, and the writing can be in any style you want, so far I believe that we would like to call the book MY MIND MATTERS, but the title of your piece is up to you.

We quite like the idea of people writing about secrets or exploring internal thoughts that they don't get to talk about with other people as much, we want to dig deep into one's brain! Each author will be credited on the back cover but the author of each particular piece will remain anonymous - we hope that this will encourage people to write something really captivating and personal, you could also submit something with a pen name or under the name of your collective. We've been talking to a comedy club called Lolshevism to fundraise the money to print this book nicely, the more people we get involved the better the book will be! We hope to have the fundraiser at Hyde Park Book Club who have also very kindly invited us to start selling our t-shirts there.

Following this, we're also looking to launch a new series of designs, and would love to have an array of contributors - if you are interested in doing a Beefy Squarms collab then please get in touch with us: http://www.beefysquarms.com/contact

Lots of love, Beefy xxx
