N.D.S Episode 7 - Jasper in the House

Jasper came on the radio show today which was fun but I was feeling so fragile. One of the tunes he played was The Blues (It Began In Africa) and I didn’t get a chance to mention on the show that this tune is sick but just brings up so many weird memories for me. It reminds me of when we tried to throw a house party, and one of our neighbours was screaming his head off at me in the street about what a ‘fucking prick’ I was for living in that house and having a ‘fucking party’, as Jasper played this tune soo fucking loud that the whole road was actually vibrating.
I think I’ve mentioned Ours Samplus on the show before as they’re part of Tour de Manège, and they are a French beatmaker I’ve been a huge fan of for a few years now, everything about their tunes are laid back but perfect. I found their hour long mix on a youtube channel Stay See, which opens with Spell On You that we played on the radio. It’s probably safe to say the origins of ‘Neck Dancing Society’ lay some of its roots in this mix.
I was also happy to get to play Feel Good Inc from De La Soul vs Fela Kuti, which I think is an amazing mash up that actually compliments all tracks involved.
